  1. 1. Loan Amount & Fees Maximum Amount: Up to ₹4 Lakh. Interest Rate (2026 Update): Following a recent cabinet decision, the scheme is now effectively 0% interest (Interest-Free) for all students, meaning you only repay the principal amount. What it covers: Tuition fees, hostel/rent, examination fees, books, stationery, and a laptop.
  2. 2. Eligibility Criteria Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Bihar. Qualification: Passed Class 12 (Intermediate) from a board recognized by the Bihar government. (For Polytechnic, Class 10 is sufficient). Age: Maximum 25 years at the time of application. Institution: Must have secured admission in a college recognized by regulatory bodies (UGC, AICTE, etc.). For private colleges outside Bihar, they must usually have a NAAC 'A' grade. Constraint: You cannot apply for a degree of the same level you already hold (e.g., a second B.A.).

Medical: MBBS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing, GNM, B.Pharm, BPT, BAMS, BHMS. Management: BBA, MBA, PGDM, Hotel Management (BHMCT). Computer/IT: BCA, MCA, B.Sc IT/CS. General: B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. Others: Law (LLB/Integrated), B.Ed., B.Arch, Agriculture, Mass Communication, Fashion Tech, Fine Arts.

There is no specific "window"; applications are open year-round.
